Florian studied business management focuses on quantitive methods, strategic management and Environmental Economics/ Natural Resource Management at Münster School of Business and San Diego State University (USA). In January 2017 he successfully completed his studies in sustainability science at Leuphana University in Lüneburg with a Master degree.
He wrote his master thesis „Circular added value: The design of sustainable business models in the circular economy“ in cooperation with the Fraunhofer-Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM) in Berlin.
Florian Hofmann had worked during the bachelor programme for six months in the Corporate Sustainability department at AUDI AG. After he gained experience as a student assistant at UNESCO Chair „Higher Education for Sustainable Development“ at Leuphana University Lüneburg, he joined the Environmental and Reliability department at Fraunhofer IZM.
His research focuses on socio-ecological transition management of business models, organizational learning and systematic management within socio-ecological transformation of society.
Florian Hofmann starts his doctorate in the research group in October 2017 at TU Berlin funded by a doctoral scholarship of ideational and financial support from the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.
