DIY Repair for product longevity – new paper based on OHA-research

Repair initiatives, so-called repair cafés, are often described in the past as an answer to a large number of sustainability challenges. Less obvious are social science analyzes of people repairing objects at home. The scientific article in the “Journal of Cleaner Production” by Sabine Hielscher and Melanie Jaeger-Erben is intended to provide insights into how people carry out everyday and non-everyday repairs at home. The paper highlights the importance of practical skills, a sense of self-efficacy and people’s everyday routines when it comes to performing repairs in the household.
